2013BET Cypher

I caught the tail end of the BET Hip Hop Awards last night, I usually only watch this for the Cyphers but the award show it self wasn’t bad.

I don’t get why they don’t just show this thing live, as oppose to waiting almost 2 weeks later to release it on television.

Anyways check out the Cypher performances which included ASAP Mobb, Action Bronson, Travis Scott, Lil Kim, Starlife Breezy & Tiffany Foxx Cypher, Slaughterhouse and TDE.

ASAP Mobb Cypher

The ASAP Mobb were the fist to start off the Cyphers, and they held it down. Twelvvy, Na$t and Ant kick bars for one of the first cyphers of the night and Pretty Flacko ends it for the A$AP team.

Action Bronson, Travis Scott, Lil Kim, Starlife Breezy & Tiffany Foxx Cypher

This one was my least favorite, I thought Action Bronson would’ve killed it but he just seemed uninspired. Travis Scott and Lil Kim were meh, Tiffany Foxx hard on the ears and easy on the eyes.

Slaughterhouse

If memory serves, I believe this is the Slaughterhouse’s third time in the Cypher, once these guys get started that means amateur hour is officially over. Even when they’re taking it easy other rappers just can’t keep.

I see the boy Joell Ortiz has been shedding the pounds, hopefully the skills go along with the weight. Good that he’s staying healthy though. Who do you think had the best verse out of the crew?

TDE Cypher

like we said amateur hour was officially over and TDE the reigning Hip-Hop crew from the West Coast were not about to be upstaged by Slaughterhouse. ScHoolboy Q started it off, then Jay Rock kicks a verse for the streets, Ab-Soul flow that soul brother #2 ish, followed by the world getting introduced to Isaiah Rashad. To end it off though Kendrick Lamar goes into “King” mode and completely obliterated his much anticipated and speculated verse which fans have been talking about for the past 2 weeks ever since the footage snippet surfaced.

Still not clear if he’s talking to anybody in particular, or just firing stray shots.

Which was your favorite Cypher?
