TJ, if you ever have a chance if like Pun, please look up Big L, Wu-Tang’s 36 Chambers, Nas It was written and listen to track 4 I gave you power, Outkast-Aquemini, Biggie Life after Death, Nore-N.O.R.E, Listen I know this post is late in fact a whole month late but this is your starter kit. Listen and really take in the vibe of the 90′s. Now pretend that you’re my age 25 and have been listening to hip hop since you were 10. Now bring it to the present day hip-hop. Every line that rappers use these days are only duplicates of our day. There’s is no gripe here about the young rappers but as you can imagine the shit gets repetitive real quick. If anybody ever see’s this post and knows TJ. Just put him on because I think’s its time for our generation to show why we fell in love w/ hip hop.

I gotta kinda disagree wit u on da beats bein golden because the producers in the 90s were killin too. and most of the beats now in the last couple years have been rather generic

I apologize before hand but i had no idea who Big Pun is, and I am 17. I hadn’t even heard of him tell read this post, but damn this guy is lyrical, I haven’t heard words with more than two syllables in a rhyme in an eternity. I am not a big fan of old school hip-hop but I will admit that it was the golden age of lyrics. However it is not to say that we are in a golden age of our own in terms of beats rather than lyrics.

Listen, Sab is a perfect example of what hip hop fans of today listen to. Either A) he’s young and perhaps doesn’t know that the mid-90′s are considered the golden age of hip-hop or B) He is a result of what I like to call cat in the hat rhymes. I’m not saying that hip-hop is dead by all means but what I am saying is that there are few lyricists out there. There’s allot of entertainers but few lyricist. And anyone who remembers Pun will have to agree with me.
