Cassidy spends half the interview Angie Martinez talking about Jay-Z’s album, I think that confidence he has is now border lining cockiness. I have both these guys albums sitting by my laptop right now and Cassidy’s B.A.R.S is a well put together album but it’s no American Gangster. My Drink and Two Step is about 300 hundred spins away from being played out and there isn’t anymore radio friendly singles on that album apart from “Damn I Miss The Game” which I will be posting tomorrow. Blue Magic slowly grew on most people and Roc Boys is taking off in a major way plus the video is crazy, other joints on Jay’s album like “Success” and “Fallen” could be considered Classics.

Man, you cats are funny to me. Peep game. the dude gave us reasonable doubt and you dummies wasnt feeling it at first… it was too much unless you been there, he dumddown for you to catch up on the second one. yall caught on with the mainstream grasp, he gripped up on the tird and fourth thinking yall had maybe a glimpse of what the deal was. Cass is nice but not nice enough to disrespect Jay-Z. Jay-Z sold wayyyyy more albums than Cassidy in the 1st week. Chris Brown even sold more. From BET.com:

The rap superstar/mogul’s latest release American Gangster hits the Billboard charts at #1 with 425,000 units sold in its first week. That ties the hip-hop star with none other than Elvis Presley as the only two artists with ten records debuting at #1. That figure includes all of Jay-Z’s solo albums since 1998 as well as his efforts with Linkin Park (2004′sCollison Course) and his collaboration with R.Kelly (2004′sUnfinished Business).
Lost in all the furor around Jay-Z’s release was Chris Brown’s sophomore effort Exclusive, which also hit stores last Tuesday. The 18-year-old Virginia native sold 294,000 to come in at #4. But although his 2005 self-titled debut CD came in at #2, Brown sold only 153,000 CD’s in his first week then, so it does represent a progession in sales.
The other major black music release – Cassidy’s B.A.R.S.:The Barry Adrian Reese Story entered the charts at #10 with 63,000 sold, a drop-off of 30,000 units from first week sales of his last CD I’m a Hustla in 2005.
