@Rizzle Rap that utilizes a metaphor is a basic styling. To say that there is a difference between “real rap” and “metaphor rap” is overlooking the genre as a whole. Rap isn’t based off of race either, do you understand how many rap artists from different ethnic backgrounds exist? Do you realize how many of them are/were extremely successful and considered top MCs? If Drake’s songs are as soft as you say, where do you derive the idea that he thinks he’s gangsta? Either you are speaking on someone you don’t even listen to, or you truly are lost on the subject. Either way you need to figure out what you are talking about. On another note, I do agree with you about xclusivgenius’s comment.

Wow, this is useless. Common is 40 years old, the guy has been rapping for over a decade. He should know better by now than to participate in this. Theres no point, Common had no reason to start shit with an up and coming artist who is very successful and on top of his game, with no sign of falling. Drake shouldn’t have jumped the gun on the response either, that shit makes both of them look weak. If Common is really the veteran we all know, and Drake is such fire like we have all seen, why waste time battling and just collaborate. Damn. For their sake I hope it is a stunt, it would be less embarrassing and far more productive than this nonsense.

First of all Drake cant hold a candle to common in longevity lyrics style ect. This is a master in the game or whats left of it for these young (money)rappers to see. I like both of them but you are talkin about a complete artist to someone who is trying to become a complete artist.Maybe the young (money) rappers should check commons dis on Ice cube where again everything was tru and it made sense.Then try to last as long in the game as common. Maybe if we would actually listen to a whole album and not just 2 songs out of 10 we could see who can make a hit and who can actually rap. We have dumbed it down to ABC raps for a ABC audience. What ever happend to wordplay and making us think about the raps and not just A to the B to the C content.Keys,Bryant……Drake needs to chill on that.

Common doesnt rap, compared to tupac he has a singers flow. Ll cool j and big daddy kane had a good beef they both were great.
