Sitting down with MTV, Diggy Simmons Talks Working With DJ Premier For ‘Past Presents Future’ Mix-tape, Interview here.

“With ‘Shook Ones,’ me and my dude Rasheed just really strategized everything music-wise,” Diggy said. “We’re tight, everything we think about [is] on the same mindset. We had the idea of doing the Past Presents Future mixtape and we decided to go with ’90s and ’80s classic beats to [rhyme] over and some of them are flipped. The mixtape is gonna be hosted by the legendary DJ Premier.”

Diggy wouldn’t speak much on what Premier was doing on the mixtape, but he spoke of how they both met. “DJ Premier, we met when I did the cipher for the BET [Hip-Hop Awards], he was the DJ behind all those [performances] and I did that with my brother and my dad,” Diggy recalled. “From there my people and him linked up and it was just easy. Then I saw him at the BET Hip-Hop Awards and he’s been real supportive of me so he was down from the jump start. He’s even in the ‘Shook Ones’ video behind the boards while I’m doing my studio scene. - DJ Premier blog
