Some of the biggest artist in hip hop were born from the mixtape game, Drake being the most recent who’s mixtape is better than most albums out this year. Hopping on someone elses beat has been long standing tradition in hip hop, the point of it is to hop on the beat and kill it more than the originator, and if it’s good enough it just mght make the radio.
