Everyone keeps saying 2pac had an early departure..He was on his 5th album ((1 was a dbl)(and a thuglife cd))He had proven he can stay on top.He broke all kinds of records with “all eyez on me” He had the #1 album while in prison(Me against the world. He dropped 2 albums and 1 dbl album in 23 months.Relapse was eminem’s 6th album..and u gotta admit he fell off a bit. But i gotta say i heard recovery and the shits tight.For me em,(even when he was off)was right up there with pac, for what he did for hiphop, just like big.None have been smoother than big.They all got different styles and bring different emotions while listening..but who has had an impact since? Lil wayne?, circa drought 3, carter 3, absolutely.. now, maybe not but he could come back.To me big l and big pun finally got the respect they deserve after they died.Biggie i think could’ve made 6 albums and still b hot.. Em has changed the dynamics of hip-hop since the Slim Shady EP in 96′. Look at the game these days, more people comin out and imitating Eminem than they are imitating Pac and Big. They were pivotal in the movement that brought hip-hop to the mainstream and to the streets harder than ever before. But like every one else has said, they took an early exit and no one can really debate about their potential because it was never really tapped into. Eminem has longevity, best selling solo artist, not just rapper but artist, of the 2000′s. Because he’s white and because of his unique style Eminem could bring the game to markets that Pac and Big never could. That’s the definition of greatness. It’s one thing to make hip-hop bigger in markets where it is already big, but its another thing entirely to make hip-hop big in markets where traditionally there was no following of hip-hop.. That’s why Eminem is the greatest in the game. Period. I can’t say that Em is better than Pac or Big talent wise, because they each had a different style and attitude in music, so you can’t compare them. Obviously Em was influenced by Pac and Big as he was growing up, but that dont mean he cant be better in the game in the long run. He took over where they left off and grew the game exponentially. That’s why I personally believe Em to be the best… But in the end it all comes down to personal opinion.

I don’t see anything wrong w/ surpassing your predecessors. Though Big, Pac, Pun, Nas, Big L, Jay-Z are greats there time has come to relinquish the crown to a more than qualified candidate. everyone puts so much stress on big and pac. they’ve been immortalized by their deaths but that doesn’t automatically leave them at the top forever. yes they were good, very good, but since they died they never had the oppurtunity to flop. if 50 had died after get rich or die tryin he wouldve been forever huge, maybe not so much as big and pac but he’d still be up there, just because no one had time to see a flop. same with lil wayne after the carter 3, or eminem after the eminem show, or jay-z or snoop dogg, or anyone. pac and biggie were never given the chance to show they’re human, and so to the world they cant do any wrong.
