Eminem, Slaughterhouse & YelaWolf cover the March issue of XXL magazine, where Slaughterhouse & YelaWolf speak on joining the Shady Records roster.
“Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse, it’s kinda phase two of Shady,” says Eminem. “It’s the new generation of Shady Records and as we’re trying to rebuild our label, it’s exciting for hip-hop and with all of these forces coming together and with what everybody’s capable of on the mic, it’s gonna be fun.”
What YelaWolf had to say about signing:
“Considering where I’m from and the shit I’ve been through, it’s hard to put into words what partnering with Shady means to me, my team at Ghet-O-Vision, and my state of Alabama. I can tell you that when you’re willing to give your life up to see a dream through, the reward is great. And now that I’ve become an apprentice to one of the greatest artists in the world, my potential reaches beyond anything I ever imagined. Let’s kill this shit.”
The March issue of XXL hits newsstands nationwide on February 8th.

i dont see how this will benefit anyone except for eminem. honestly, its like theo ratliff and matt barnes signing with the lakers. eminem will sell records if i like it or not, but just because you’re on his label, dont think yours will automatically sell too. Slaughterhouse, like other rappers, only excite a certain demographic. your fan base wont grow because you rap on eminem beats now. same with yelawolf. dont get me wrong, all 5 of those cats can rap. i just dont see their fan base growing because you sign to eminem. at the end of the day, you are who you are. look at M.O.P. Nor Jay or 50 could ‘help’ them.

It’s gonna help them. It solves the demographic problem because shady is a larger outlet. I like Yelawolf now because of this headline. M.O.P was nice for a tru hip hop fan but annoyed the hell out of woman and the average listener. Slaughterhouse is younger, more talented and have mid-west, west coast and 2 east coast spitters.

I feel what you guys are saying about the demographic, but it will help Yela because he’ll have a significantly larger audience listening to his records just becuase of Eminem and Shady records behind him. And even if they dont like his music people will know who he is, he basically cant lose with this

Well when Yela came with Wiz to Houston ill tell you that he definitely wasnt getting boo’d off stage he actually got every1 pretty pumped leaving a crazy crowd for Wiz to destroy. This is going to be awesome and these guys have such great potential to change the game. Im happy for YelaWolf! AND I AGREE WE NEED HIM ON SOME HOUSTON RADIO!!!!
