Eminem’s Recovery moved 741,000 units according to Billboard. This will be his 6th straight #1 album.
“Recovery’s” debut week sales surpasses the first week of Eminem’s last set, “Relapse,” which began at No. 1 in 2009 with 608,000. It also beats the opening of 2005’s “Curtain Call: The Hits” which entered at No. 1 with 441,000 in 2005.
Eminem’s new album also wows digitally, as downloads made up 255,000 of its first week. That’s the second-biggest digital week for an album in history. Only Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends” notched a larger frame, when it debuted with 288,000 downloads in the summer of 2008.
No fan base as loyal as Eminem’s, I’m one of the 741,000 people that copped the album and he did that despite the leak. That last relapse CD was eh but this Recovery joint is fire.
“Wayne did a millie, 50 did a millie, Ye too, but what Em did was silly, the white boy blossomed after Dre endorsed him, his flow on Renegade, f-cking awesome, Applaud him.“

Ill Nigga Shit…. Respect It

I think this is Em’s best cd, ever. I open itunes, start with cold wind blows and let it play through to the end, every song is great.
There are only two cd’s i can listen to straight through without skipping a song, Eminem’s Recovery and Kid Cudi’s Man on the Moon: The End of Day.
Oh yea and he killed Drake’s cd… big time.
6-30-2010
all albums leak so what chozen…. Good album anyways i bought 2 copies!

We all have to admit. RECOVERY is probably the biggest come back in HIP HOP history. EM fell off, was on drugs, went to rehab, came back with RELAPSE and, it was garbage. He then spent time with his family, got healthier and stronger then, followed up with RECOVERY, which is dope. He’s back showing versatility, word-play &, ill rhyme skills. I personally think this is his best work since THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP in 2000 and I’m sure that many REAL HIP-HOPPERS agree. I gotta head back in the studio myself. PEACE!!! :-)

If this had come out before thank me later would anyone even bother buying drakes?
7-1-2010
thats why it didnt, im sure em had the heart in him to let drake survive..
6-30-2010
Why are all of the haters always trying to pit us against one another or simply just start up drama? The recovery CD is banging just as well as the thank me later. Eminem is killing everything that he spits on, him and Drake are two different artists. Why can’t they both have good CDs instead of trying to downplay one of the two. I don’t think that anyone posting on here has sold over 400,000 units in a week. I purchased both CDs and I like both of them. Stop all of the hating, how far have we truly fallen as a people.
6-30-2010
we are our worst enemy you sound kinda soft maybe that’s why you’re not selling shit. I mean you did say “pit us against one another” like you’re some kinda artist right? spend some time in the streets, then come back write some bars and maybe you’ll be able to sell 50 cd’s. Leave hiphop to the one’s that have that competitive spirit. Em killed it. There’s nothing else to say. Drake just like everybody else needs to go back to the drawing board and step up their game ‘cuz “HE’S” back.
7-1-2010
true ignorance, I would expect no better from you street’s are watching, (spend some time in the streets, then come back and write some bars, I don’t believe Eminem reached his status rapping about the streets) also I’m a inner city school teacher who spends the majority of my time mentoring young black kids. Competitive spirit is a great thing, but the mentality of constantly knocking each other is something that is crippling our race. I am also a fan of rap who understands the difference between Hip Hop and Gangsta Rap, that’s something not too many people can say today. What we call Hip Hop today sounds nothing like what KRS and the other legends talked about. Please go read a book instead of talking trash on the internet (you are a cancer to our society, your ignorance is killing us more and more as each day passes. Congrats to Em and Drake, keep doing your thing. Feel free to continue you internet trash talking, I want respond, I have better things to do with my time.

EMINEM IS THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE FUCK WAT ANYONE SAYS….. NO ONE DOSE IT LIK EM
7-1-2010
wit recovery its definatly had to argue that he isnt the best rapper alive. definatly kills the whole cd. i think my favs are Your Never Over n Seduction. but all the other tracks are still equally bangin. drake cd is bangin to. but they are both different. em doesnt do the luvy dubby rnb joints like drake. they r both good. i’ll predic thought that recovery wins best rap album and album of the year when award season rolls back around. maybe artist too
7-1-2010
The RECOVERY CD is off the hook its the biggest come back in Hip Hop. He went down, then there was drugs, then rehab he then came back with Relapse it was average but im a true fan so i supported…….N now his with his family & friends and stronger than ever so here is RELAPSE I agree with every1 in the world when they say its just as good as Marshall Mathers LP……It wont be leaving my CD Player, Playist, IPOD u name it anytime soon.
7-1-2010
i meant so here is RECOVERY

We are our worst enemy is on some real talk…..
We need to realize that Em and Drake are 2 different artist and appeal to different masses. Some people from both fan base cross over vice versa so you can’t really compare them. Em is a vet, Drake is a rockie who’s doing it big. Do y’all expect J. Cole, j. Writer, Tyga or any of the young hungry cats to do the numbers Em does his year, if they do put out a Album this year?
Personally I rather listen to Drake’s album all day long because Drake spits on real life situation on the album (like on fireworks, how Rhianna messed with his mentals lol), Em spits the sickest sh!t he can think of at the moment with some controversial stuff.
Am more into real than sickest. But thats just me!

“Personally I rather listen to Drake’s album all day long because Drake spits on real life situation on the album (like on fireworks, how Rhianna messed with his mentals lol), Em spits the sickest sh!t he can think of at the moment with some controversial stuff.”
are you serious!?
What the F are you listening to?
Everyone who listens to EM knows that he raps about personal real life situations like his family ever since the beginning. And im pretty sure almost every song on recovery is about “real life situations”, even on his other albums! You dont know what youre talking about.
Im not gonna lie, drake is really good and so was thank me later, but you shouldnt say EM doesnt talk about real shit cuss it’s not true.
EM is REAL and the sickest.
7-2-2010
I didn’t say Em don’t do real music but IMO, most of the music he does is the sickest think he could think off at the moment and he put alot of that on Relapse thinking it would have sold like Marshall Matters but it didn’t so he put out his doped up experience on Recovery and it worked because most of the tracks on Recovery addresses real life situations…….
7-1-2010
ok if im not mistaken last time i checked em is suppose to sell more then drake he’s a vet what u giving him so much props for selling more then drake like both albums is dope but at the end of the day idont think anyone doubted em’s ability to out sell drake not becuz he’s better but becuz he’s eminem thats like bein hyped about jay-z selling more then kid cudi like thats the shit im talkin about yeah em is back but he’s not god he aint the best lyrically and he aint the best period def one of them but still ya get so hyped like drake is really gunnin for em. he aint plain and simple if anything drakes path to bein a great rapper is far from em becuz em is a white boy who just happened to destroy the hip hop race barrier as for drake is gonna b the next kanye(music wise) or jay they not the same so stop actin like em just stopped drake from makin music cuz he’s not if anything he’s inspiring him .
think about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7-1-2010
yayah
7-1-2010
You guys are a bunch of dumbfucks. Eminem and Drake don’t care about you. And why compare the two? It’s not like they’re similar rappers or have beef or somethin. Eminem is a legend and Drake is just starting out.
7-1-2010
While Em’s album is good and everything, if Young Money didnt leak ‘Thank Me Later’ almost a month before hand, Drake would have outsold him. Easily.
7-2-2010
i agree…i think drizzy would have done 800,000 or better…but im not takin’ nuthin away frum Em…he came a long way.
7-2-2010
Em album leaked 2 and he did 700,000 plus so your point is not valid Pussy pony and Teddy pussy
7-2-2010
look u fuckin’ homo…no one cares about wht u think..ur a worthless piece of shit who probably gets stiff when u hear em..lol…keep yo gay ass offline…lmao
7-2-2010
Look for all you bitches saying its drakes first album boo fucking hoo, Em’s first proper album? The slim shady lp, exactly. Or if you wanna use Infinte fine, his wordplay is slicker then Drake’s wet dreams.
But Drake’s was leaked early you cry! Well given Drake’s career has been built on mixtapes & leaks, oh and collaborations his album leaking was standard. Em’s leaked just over 2 weeks early and every motherfucker downloaded that shit and STILL bought it.
Don’t get me wrong I like most of drake’s shit, but I just wondered how he would of sold if recovery had come out the same week.
If Drake as an RnB rapper is a bit unfair to compare to Em who would you use, what about Jay’s last album better then recovery?
7-4-2010
Okay to end this argument why don’t you go listen to Drake live, then you will understand how ass he really is. Em live is the same as his album work but Drake live is a legitimate scrub in the rap game.
7-4-2010
do errbody a favor and hang yo fuckin’ self….drizzy one of the best out bottom line…you would kno that if u wasnt busy playin’ wit action figures an wackin’ off 2 em…get a life…RIP
10-14-2010
Um em could destroy wayne any day ok any day oh he already did bitch you get no love
7-4-2010
to thetruth:
who’s cryin bro im glad em sold its just u comparin him like em just sold more then god drake has a whole career ahead of him em is far ahead in his plus tho em’s albums are ill as fuck he also was in an era dat everything sold like who let the doggs out and n’sync nikka like for god sake lil waynes first album went double plat nikka and dats when he was garbage like lets be serious nikka the bum song from tom green went plat u just dummy happy dat ur fav rapper is still relevent wich is good for em cuz we def needed him back……..if some otha shit sell more than em does dat make dat artist better no it just ment shit they sold good.
7-5-2010
we are our worst enemy um…a teacher? That sounds about right. No wonder you don’t understand. You are just using your position to try and talk down on how things are done in the hiphop culture. When nobody really cares about what you think. Yeah it sounds pretty but that’s the problem out here things are not pretty. I don’t need to read a book cuz i’m actualy living this shit. If you’re a mentor like you said leave that shit for those who want it. nobody is traying to come here to hear a lecture from no stuck up whant to be coach carter teacher. and em got his status by talking about everything including the streets. listen to his featurings with the game, 50 cent, jay-z, dmx, and the list goes on. go and educate yourself a little more, teacher, and then come back and try again.
7-7-2010
drake cant rap for shit eminem can probaly rhyme wit orange
its like a gun against a rock whos better rock or gun?
eminem i the bomb bitch straight up
8-9-2010
Personally I rather listen to Drake’s album all day long because Drake spits on real life situation on the album (like on fireworks, how Rhianna messed with his mentals lol)

Marshall’s Recovery is beyond his best work. The day it dropped I picked it up, and guess what? Before I almost died last march I HATED HIP HOP/RAP. This CD is not only smokin, but I know for sure, it’s helped a lot of people. Going Thru Changes was my life. When I came out of my coma, and I found out Em’s best friend, Proof was gone, just like my best friend…fucking gone, I kinda lost it.
I called NYC,Shady/Glass records. I knew before I made the call, I’d be considered a fan, but, all i wanted to do was leave him a voicemail, so that he might know that Recovery, was part of my recovery, and I wanted to thank him as a man, not a fan. But,Lisa told me you could send him a letter. Seriously?
Belive me, I don’t expect this to happen, but should anyone from BB read this, and can pass it on to Mr. Mathers publicists, or assistants, I would greatly appreciate it.
You have my addy now…
David..
