Nothing Was The Same (Digital Booklet) ExtrasDrake does what was expected of him with his latest release “Nothing Was The Same” and Jay-Z reaches yet another milstone.

Drizzy's third major album Nothing Was The Same, was the overall winner on the charts this week. It scaled the Billboard's Top 200 albums chart, moving a whopping 658,637 units, which is close to the projected figures.

So far this year, Nothing Was The Same is second highest selling album in it's first week only taking second place to Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience which sold 968,000 units during its first week in retailers in March.

Drake could however end up in third slot as early as next week, being that Justin's followup The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 was released on the 30th of September and is expected to do similar numbers as it's predecessor.

Drake's Nothing Was The Same Sells 650,000 Copies

The Nothing Was The Same project is the only top 10 selling Rap/R&B album this week, the album which had features from Jay-Z, Sampha, Majid Jordan and Jhene Aiko is Drake's third number one album.

His major debut Thank Me Later sold 447,000 copies it's first week in 2010, and his sophomore effort Take Care released in 2011 debut with 631,000 sold it's first week.

Prior to the of Nothing Was The Same, Drake spoke on not being worried about the numbers:

Best advice I ever got is: ‘No expectations lead to no disappointments,' so I have no expectations…Really, just more than September 24, I'm just excited whenever people get the music. The numbers, the sales, all that stuff, it's cool. I'm sure I'll get into it on the day like, ‘How much did we sell,' trying to figure it out, but aside from that, I'm just excited for people to hear the full body of work.
