The richest rapper and the richest man in the world grace the cover of Forbes magazine together, along with their cover, Jay-Z and Warren Buffett took part in the very first “Forbes 400 summit,” which consisted of an hour-long videotaped interview with Steve Forbes at Buffett’s office building in Omaha, Neb. In clip #5 Jay talks about almost losing an iPod with all the music he had recorded for Blueprint 3 on a flight coming back from Hawaii, the day before he bought the album’s rights for 5 million dollars. He also mentions checking all the internet sites every day for the next 3 months.

All of his immediate family are out of hood, and close friends. You expect him to help every uncle, aunt and cousin? That’s ridiculous. He’s not in the business of charity, if they didn’t help him to get to where he is today what does he owe them? I’m only responding because I’ve had similar experience after my company Covanant Inc. stated doing very well, people just start coming out the wood work looking for hand outs.

I don’t understand how hiphop fans and people of hip can hate one man who has done so much to advance music. Before Jay they didn’t publish hip-hop cash cows in Forbes. Then you get to Jay level and he is not doing ignorant things he worship the devil. 50 is rich too, Puff is just as rich, but no one says nothing about them. Jay is a different kind of person he reaches for things that most will be afraid to do. So he hangs with Rupert Murdock and now he is the Devil We destroy ourselves now. We don’t need white people to do it. We sprew so much hate it is crazy. WE expect to get hand feed and instead of getting it. That is why we don’t have more Billionaire Blacks, we worry about what everyone thinks. Buffet said it best he didn’t care what other thought and did what he felt was right.

Hip hop need to stop thinking being a GOON is the only thing that should be considered cool. We have rapper in the game that is 30+ and act as if they are 20 years old. Jay grew up and is 40 so he showing the younger generation that you suppose to set goals and strive to reach them and not worry about who going to say your not hood enough. That is what hip hop has become, I read comments all the time from hiphop sites and they alll say Jay sold out because he is making moves that most don’t understand. He said in his interview that he was introduce to a different world when he went to his teacher house. We need to get out the hood and see that the world is big and their is more than selling crack and being hood. Yeah you see him in the South of France instead of in the clubs buying out the bar. You a millionaire (multi) do something new. You got cats like BABY from cash money who is smart but dumb at the same time, he needs to let that hood mindset go. Let be real they don’t relate to the hood like they think, they make it up as they go.

I am a huge fan of Jay Z’s music. However, when you are given a platform like that…I just think that you have the opportunity to influence a lot of people and he doesn’t! I can only say he’s a good rapper and business man but at the end of the day..none of that really matters…If your not using your influence to teach a generation then it’s pretty pointless! He’s definitely counting stacks ,but has he held his hand out to a young boy who has grown up with no father and said “I too was there”,you still have the potential to be great. How about given some time not because he has to but because he wants to….There are artist like Usher, Ludacris, Young Jezzy…and ball players like Alonzo Mourning..who are making a real difference in the lives of other people…It’s not just enough to say I made it..but that I shared my knowledge and wealth with others! Instead of giving a free concert how about going to a school and teaching a business class…or anything that will make a real difference at the end of the day!

I have to say that it is not always going out to schools and speaking that makes a difference. He does have scholarship programs that his mother is runinnig, but I think sometimes just being that example to those who see him is big. I think jay has influence a huge crowd of people. I am 30 years old I grew up on Jay-Z I molded some of my ways business wise from his moves and how is carried himself in hip hop. Think about those hip hop artist that was in his era, only a hand full are relevant of sucessful today. He made major business moves that they had the same chance to do too. I feel that he said it in the interview that hip-hop is stuck in what is hot now faze. Plus i think Jay in a class wouldn’t help anyone in business to be sucessful. Warren Buffet said that if you got it you got it, plus you have to love it first.
