We've all been waiting to hear an official response from Kendrick Lamar in regards to his verse on Big Sean's “Control“ track with Jay Electronica. He talked about not realizing how epic the verse was at first, since he's been on the road.
Rosenberg asked him specifically about the “King Of New York” and “Kendrick, Jigga & Nas” lines that made a lot of cats based in NYC feel some type of way. Kendrick's response pretty much was that it was taken out of context by some but the real kings of New York (Diddy, Jay-Z, Nas) knew what he meant.
Kendrick also shed some like on what he thought about the responses, he thought the Papoose verse was comical, he liked that Joe Budden went for the facts and liked Jeoll Ortiz's response as well, which is most people's favorite. His favorite however was Los' response, he liked how he flipped his words.
Another thing Kendrick took some time to speak on was the Interview Maino did with DJ Kay Slay, which pretty much covered how New York's Hip Hop scene is all out of whack. Something I started saying 4 years ago, we need to get it together here.
K. Dot agreed with Maino because he went through the same thing years ago in LA when that rap scene was a grave yard.
