Before the verse the two were good friends and were featured on each other’s albums, but then “Contol” happened and things became a little awkward. J. Cole on the other who’s even close friends with Kendrick, didn’t take it personal at all, instead he made light of the situation.
After debuting his new single “I” this morning, Kendrick stopped by the good folks of Power 106 for a sit-down interview on Big Boy’s Neighborhood. It just so happened that a few weeks ago, the station celebrated the anniversary of his “Control” verse.
Big Boy asked what was the current status of his relationship with his peers to which Kendrick responded.
It’s all love, I respect them all as artists and personally as people, and I hate how the media tried to pit young brothers against each others.”
Be sure to check out “I.”
