Kidz In The Hall’s new LP Land Of Make Believe drops March 9th on Duck Down. It’s their third (and best) album, providing a platform for the hard-working rap twosome to stretch their legs stylistically like never before. So it makes perfect sense that they enlisted another duo, Nick Catchdubs and Proper Villains, to transform single “Flickin” into a banging dance track. Far from the standard uptempo electro mix, their new take keeps MC Naledge’s crisp Chicago flow intact over an insistent, funky house-inspired groove, turning what was originally a half-time ride-out into an absolute anthem.
Says Nick Catchdubs:
“I first met Kidz right before their debut album was coming out, and we’ve remained friends ever since. Double 0 and I have always talked about collaborating on something one day, and with the sound of ‘Flickin’ and the overall vibe of their new album the timing was finally right. The goal was initially just to come up with a cool track for DJs, but the remix took on a life of its own – watching them perform it live on the Crowd Control tour has been amazing!”
