Back in 2010 Mac Miller exploded on the scene with K.I.D.S. mixtape, with Rostrum Records being the one who introduced him. Over the 4 years since, we've seen the young rapper rise to super stardom along with the Independent Rostrum Records who is also home to Wiz Khalifa.
The fame of both those artists gave Rostrum the clout to earn them a partnership with Atlantic Records.
Sadly the historic run between Mac Miller and Rostrum Records has come to an end. The Pittsburgh MC has decided to move on from the independent label going forward after his original contract expired, leaving after a four year run.
According to Mac Miller's statement to MTV News, there's no love lost and he still considers them family.
“Rostrum is my family. That is forever. No matter what, we will always work together. We moved mountains and I can only see them continuing that tradition. I am grateful for everything I learned and am always here for whatever.”
All the best to Mac in the future, should be interesting to see where he goes from here, and what will become of his own artists like Njomza.
