On an already emotional day for New York being the 12th anniversary of “September 11,” DJ Mister Cee announced his official resignation from the one and only Hot 97 live on the air. It was just like any other “Throwback at Noon” show, which Mr. Cee has done for countless years with the exception of Cee opening up about wanting to leave Hot 97 to avoid any more unnecessary press for the station.
Mr. Cee's career has spanned 20 years dating all the back to 1993, it's sudden and unfortunate to see him bow out of the radio station he helped build to the media giant it is today.
Shout out to Hot 97 and Ebro for sticking by Mister Cee through the hard times he's been going through the past 2 years.
Check out his final show below and the official Press Release statement.
“Due to some personal circumstances that have become public, after 20 years of service, Mr Cee has chosen to resign. We feel that this is in the best interest of both HOT 97 and Cee’s personal well-being. While we do not endorse the alleged activities, he is clearly facing a personal dilemma that is for him and only him to comment on. We are saddened by his departure; his contributions here at HOT 97 were great and we know him as a friend, a caring individual and significant hip hop advocate. We wish Mr Cee the best and will always consider him a family member of HOT 97.
Moments ago, he officially signed off, on the air and will finish out his last show today on September 11, 2013, an already sad day for New York City.”
I can personally say you've brought hours of great Hip Hop entertainment to me over the years, plenty of days stuck in that infamous New York traffic listening to you lay down a killer session. You were one of the building blocks to Hot 97 and it's most definitely a big loss.
Good luck to you Mr. Cee in all your future endeavors.
