I've never seen this much recap and coverage of an event that hasn't aired yet. The thing I don't get is why isn't the BET Hip Hop awards isn't done live on television.

New music from ZZ Ward titled "Cryin Wolf" featuring Kendrick Lamar. I thought this was the first time I ever rocked with anything from ZZ Ward but I have heard her elsewhere but didn't really take notice. She had a track with Freddie Gibbs on her last EP and she also did a record with Asher Roth on his Pabst & Jazz mixtape, so she's very Hip-Hop affiliated. Her style is a cross between Country-Blues pleasantly blended with acoustic elements. The result is something slightly similar to Adelle's sound. When I first heard the beat I wondered how Kendrick would tackle it, but then beat hits a climax and sets the perfect tone for Hii Power to come in and kill, and he does. "Cryin Wolf" is from ZZ Ward's debut album Til The Casket Drops, drops October 16, 2012. Thoughts?

Time sure does fly, I remember when Free and AJ left and how people just gave up on the show. They were replaced by Big Tigger and Julissa Bermudez which was cool because Tigger was a veteran and Julissa was already with BET and it was going good. Then a year later, they hit us with Terrence J & Rocsi Diaz and we were not having it, some fans never returned but new ones showed and after about 3 months they really Terrence & Rocsi started to get into their zone and actually ended up saving a show that was going to be otherwise cancelled. TMZ is reporting that Game was given the boot from a Hollywood club after he traded words with CTE's 211 that ended with fists thrown. Game and Jeezy are cool so I wonder what could have been cause of him having a scuffle with one of his soldiers. Speaking of Jeezy, he got into a little scuffle with Rick Ross at the 2012 BET awards over the weekend in Atlanta. There must be a "most fights by a rapper" contest that didn't know about.

Brooklyn Barclays Center: Jay-Z’s New Verse, Protests & Profits

The grand opening of the Brooklyn Barclays Center was the big event that ended off this eventful week in Hip-Hop. The grand opening saw everything from protests, profits to people just simply there to see Hova.

Funeral at Barclays?

Beneath the rusted overhang of the arena’s entrance, eight men dressed in black carried two caskets through the crowd. The protesters were part of “Don’t Shoot NYC,” a campaign to reduce the number of gun-related killings throughout the city. The Jay-Z concert for the Grand opening of Barclays presented the perfect opportunity for the DSN (I made that up) to gain attention and further their agenda. They weren't alone either, another group of protesters from the "Develop Don’t Destroy Brooklyn" group were also in attendance. Their major issue and complaints were in reference to Forest City Ratner, the company that developed the arena. One of the protesters Kanene Holder who also associates with the Occupy Wall Street movement, said she's concerned about her borough.

“The people of Brooklyn didn't want the Barclays Center,” “Brooklyn has more problems than not having a basketball team. How about poor schools, high crime, no jobs.”

Small Businesses Love Jay-Z

While protesters were pissed, local businesses were very happy. Many local store fronts welcomed the opening of the arena with "Hello Brooklyn" banners. Representatives of P.C. Richard & Son, Modell’s Sporting Goods agree that this is a good thing.

“Not too long ago this was all empty ground, nothing was here, Now I see people walk the streets right now that I’ve never seen before."

- Billy Gnad, district manager of P.C. Richard & Son Many other small businesses are also saw big gains from grand opening and expect more from Jay-Z's scheduled eight shows.

What's Good With That New Jay-Z Verse Though?

Hova couldn't open up Barclays without something new, so he had to drop a new verse for y'all.

50 Cent & Fat Joe Could Squash Beef With a Live Performance Together

In a tribute to the late Chris Lighty, long standing Hip Hop rivals 50 Cent and Fat Joe could possibly end up sharing a stage at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards. It's been reported that the 2 are expected to be part of a tribute dedicated to the late music manager, they were both at the funeral but neither addressed each other. In different recent interviews 50 Cent has touched on the current status between him and Fat Joe, and the responses weren't negative. BET's Vice President of Communications Tracy McGraw refused to comment on the rumored tribute, saying:

"That's a good question. I think we'll just go with 'Could not confirm,"

Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliott are also expected to take part in the tribute. 50 & Joe were very close with Chris Lighty both in personal and business, so this could be a possibility just on those merits. Thoughts?

Chris Brown – Don’t Judge Me Video

Where do I even start with this Chris Brown Don't Judge Me video? So apparently Chris Brown is a hero in this one, well at first he's just a hitchhiker walking down a barren street surrounded by the desert, his body showing cryptic alien like writings. He eventually catches a ride in the back of a military truck, you know -- because he wasn't really a hitchhiker -- nah, as it turns out he's a military man, special ops if you will. He's on a special mission to save the earth from some imminent alien threat, he has to sacrifice himself for his "Country and Planet" (his words not mine). But right before he goes off into space, he's approached by a reporter / love interest? He leaves a few last words and then blasts off into space crashing into the alien ship and saving us all anal probing, you know, because aliens are so interest in our assess. Chris Brown, the hitchhiker/ special forces/ martyr saves the day.

This song sounds very different from the RiRi we've been listening to for the past couple of months, you know...The Talk That Talk RiRi. She sounds more mature on this record in terms of lyrics, although the artwork shows does her rolling Diamonds into a joint. The lyrics themselves though seem much more intriquete than what we've been getting from Rihanna the past couple years. Find light in the beautiful sea I choose to be happy You and I, you and I We’re like diamonds in the sky No Birthday Cake, no Cockiness in those lines. I'm interested in hearing what else comes from Rihanna's seventh project, if it displays growth, I hope it's the right type of growth. Thoughts on Diamonds?

G.O.O.D. Music’s “Cruel Summer” Debuts At #2 With 200K Sold

Not bad, usually Group albums don't do that well, but 205,000 is good by any standard not to mentioned they already have a platinum selling single in the bag. The album fell short of the number one spot due to Pink’s “The Truth About Love” in the Billboard Top 200 which sold 280,000. They did however lock down the No. 1 on the R&B and Hip-Hop charts. A series of hot releases which include “Mercy,” “Cold,” “New God Flow” and most recently “Clique,” all played a role in the Cruel Summer project performing well on the charts. Lil Wayne's "I Am Not A Human Being II" LP finally has a release date, which is November 13th. A couple months ago Wayne said the content on the LP was originally meant for him and Juelz Santana's long awaited and once highly anticipated "I Can't Feel My Face" collaboration project. Due to Wayne and Juelz being in and out of jail, they were never able to be on the same schedule and thus the project never got done. The LP didn't officially have a lead single, until a record from Lil Wayne's recently released The Dedication 4 mixtape started to gain some traction. It was then remastered and released as the official first single for the I Am Not A Human Being II LP. Other albums dropping November include Ne-Yo, 50 Cent and Ghostface Killah. Adult Film Site Offers To Pay $5 Million For Kanye West’s Tape

Canadian based adult site, Sex.com really wants to get their hands on that alleged Kanye West X-rated tape, so much that they've offered to pay a whopping $5 million for Kanye's not one but two sex tapes. Sex.com released this official statement regarding their high stakes bid on the X-rated videos, as well as what Kanye's sex tapes represent aside from just being ordinary sex videos:

"By purchasing both tapes, Sex.com will bolster a Celebrity section like no other free, adult entertainment website. Upon purchase, Sex.com will exclusively host both videos for free in the Celebrity section and then begin packaging the sex-tapes together for a DVD release. "Sex.com sees Mr. West as much more than a rapper. He is a cultural icon, responsible for setting trends in music and fashion. Sex.com feels that these sex-tapes are not only an exclusive look into the star's intimate life but could also contain the same Midas touch Mr. West brings to all his projects."

It's my understanding that you can't actually buy something that you are aware of is stolen so exactly who are they really offering this money to? It's not like Sex.com the sell actually sell the video without Kanye West's since he's already declared it stolen. Or am I mistaken? Please let me know.

Pusha T: “I’m the Sole Reason Kanye Knows Chief Keef’s Music”

You may remember earlier in the year when Kanye West and G.O.O.D Music remixed Chief Keef's breakout single "I Don't Like," it was the ultimate co-sign for the young Chicago MC, even though Chief Keef doesn't feel like Kanye West helped the record at all. G.O.O.D. Music artist Pusha T says he's the reason Kanye added some vocals to "I Don't Like".

"First of all, I am solely the reason that there's a Chief Keef remix on [Cruel Summer]," Pusha insisted. I saw him on WorldStar. I never click Worldstar rappers but the [video] picture for some reason drew me. It was for '3 Hunna.' So I clicked on it and I called [manager Steven] Victor and I said 'Victor I want to sign this kid. Go online and check this kid out. It's authentic.'"

Pusha T was sold on Chief Keef because of his originality and authenticity. "That's what I like about him. This isn't Nas at 16." Pusha T's manager Steven Victor didn't believe Pusha T was serious and thus the deal never took place. Keef ultimately signed to Interscope Records. So your telling me Chief Keef could have been under the G.O.O.D Music roster? Nah I don't think that would have worked out.

Chris Brown Fails Drug Test, Probation Review Ordered by Judge

Chris Brown went back to court for a probation progress report hearing stemming from his 2009 assault on Rihanna and despite testing positive for drugs during a random screening, the judge decided not to revoke his probation. Chris appeared in the courtroom for the first time in over a year. Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg said community service logs from Brown's home state of Virginia, as well as further review, was needed to determine if he followed his probation. According to reports, Chris admitted to smoking up in California, where he has a medical prescription, but he failed the test in Virginia, where it's illegal. Another hearing has been set for November to review more probation records. Based on reports, Chris Brown needed 120 hours to complete his community service, but his lawyer claims he has completed 1,400 hours of service - that's equivalent to doing 8 hours of service a day for an astonishing 175 days. 50 Cent Launches Investigation Into Chris Lighty’s Death, At The Request Of Lighty’s Mother

In many past interviews 50 Cent has repeatedly expressed his doubts about his close friend and mentor Chris Lighty actually committing suicide. He's not the only one, many others who were close to Lighty like Busta Rhymes have said that Chris Lighty isn't the type of person to do something like that. Yesterday at the request of Lighty's mother, 50 Cent has hired an investigative team to look into the incident further. In the report above, done by Lisa Evers of Fox 5, we learn Lighy’s will left most of his estate to his estranged wife Veronica, the woman with whom he allegedly argued shortly before he died. All that was needed was a little bit of doubt to spark an investigation. The question is though, will they be able to actually find anything that the cops couldn't? They've already ruled it a suicide.

Wiz Khalifa's O.N.I.F.C. album tracklist has been released, but unfortunately the album has been pushed back until December 4th, due to record label fuckry. What we have until then is a recently released single entitled "Remember You" featuring The Weeknd. The second official single following Wiz's platinum "Work Hard Play Hard" single. Many have debated whether Wiz have fallen off since the release of his major label debut Rolling Papers, my answer to that is no. Especially when Rolling Papers wasn't even that good, that first go around was an experiment for Wiz trying to differentiate his sound from the mixtape Wiz Khalifa which is where I think he messed up. Perfect example would be his recently released mixtape Taylor Allderdice which I feel was more enjoyable than his album. That's the formula Wiz should stick to. The 2 official singles from the album thus far are good, but take a look at all the good tracks released this year that didn't make the tracklist. Wiz Khalifa – Oz’s & Lbs (feat. Chevy Woods & Berner) (Hard!) Wiz Khalifa – Telescope (feat. 50 Cent) (Ferrari F 50 showed up for this one) Wiz Khalifa – Different Cloth (feat. Busta Rhymes) (Busta goes ham as usually…Legit!!!) Wiz Khalifa – Far From Coach (feat. Game & Stat Quo) (This is fire) Not to say this say this much features should be on an album but it shows you that Wiz hasn't lost a step musically, it's when it comes to an album, you might not get the Wiz your looking for.
