VIBE: What memory of Pimp C stands out the most to you?
BUN B: So many changes and phases of life. I think on a good day, on a great day, I couldn’t point my finger at one thing. So many different memories: The day we signed, our first video, the first time we heard ourselves on the radio. So many different things. Most of my greatest moments in life, my greatest achievements, came standing right next to him, you know? So it’s hard to pinpoint any one thing. So many different moments.

How did it feel seeing him for the first time after he was released from prison in 2005?
BUN B:Man. UGK was at a place where everything he wanted it to be was finally getting there. Everything he wanted to get from it, he was about to receive. The love, the admiration and respect – not just from fans but also from peers and even journalists. And people understanding what he was trying to impress upon people, what he represented and where he represented it from and just how we lived and who we are as people. And I was just so happy that he was able to come back home and experience different things. I didn’t want all the fun to be gone before he had a chance to have them.

Rick Ross was hit with a 1 million dollar lawsuit this past Tuesday by attorney Kevon Glickman, owner of Philadelphia based Respect Management. According to Glickman, Ross breached their three-year management contract and attempted to divert the commissions owed to him to co-manager , Elric “E-Class” Prince, who happens to head the record label Poe Boy Entertainment.

Over the past 3 years Ross’ earnings have supposedly gone from 5,000 to more than 1 million dollars which Glickman is owed a portion. Glickman also claims he has been harrassed and threatened through text messages, phone calls, emails, and meetings about the claims. Those port of miami boys have also been throwing there weight around claiming their from the streets of Miami and know how to handle themselves in the streets.

Sounds like threats to me.

After realeasing her Deluxe Edition of B-Day and taking over all of the video channels on cable, Beyonce enters the charts at number #6 with 126,000 units sold in her first week. I definietly thought it would have been a bit higher number with all of those videos that come along with the disc. This 126,000 is compared to the first week sales of the orginial release which sold a whopping 541,000 copies. I guess people have got enough of seeing her on TV and don’t need to see the videos. Oh, Well…!

So last year we all heard the news about Christina Milian being dropped from Def Jam. No other than her boyfriend Dre who happens to be half of the production duo of Cool and Dre. Anyway since she’s not making any moves on the music scene, recent news is that she has just landed a tv show sitcom with CBS/Warner Brothers. Co-starring Mario Lopez (saved from the bell), Christina will supposedly play a pretty career woman who takes a job as an assistant at an art gallery. They are already comparing the role to Devil Wears Prada and Ugly Betty.

Good Luck, I guess. I always thought she kind of acted better than sang…or did she suck at both?

As of April 9, 2007 Remy Ma has been officially released form Terror Squad/SRC/Universal. If you can recall she was supposed to be released some time earlier but due to hang up’s and a number over other small issues motions were stalled.

She is now currently in the studio working with a number of hot producers, including Ron Browz who has the first single off the Album Punish-her called “Fresh.” With this album coming out and the current work she’s putting into that all girl group with Jackie-O (No more Shawnna) things should be pretty interesting for the ladies side of the music game in “07.”

I’m sure we’ve all some way or another heard about the recent situation between Young Buck and Game that happened at a Las Vegas Club, during the All Star Weekend Celebrations. Well according to published reports Game and Young Buck have set apart their differences all thanks to a phone conversation made this month. Here’s what Young Buck told Sohh.com

“It wasn’t even a squash the situation thing. It was a situation in [Las] Vegas and it was the first time we were in the same place. I addressed him from the stage and let him know, ‘If it’s a problem, let’s handle it right now, if not let’s get to the money,’” Buck explained to SOHH. “He was coming, I don’t know whether to get it on or get to the money, but he was coming and the security of the club, they got terrified and pushed him out.”

“After that there was a lot of people in the middle of it like, ‘Look, man, your man wanna speak.’ And I chose to have a conversation with him cause 50 Cent will never speak with him,” Buck continued. “And 50 really gave me permission to speak with him on behalf of him and everybody else. I let the conversation with him on a note of, ‘You do you, without involving us and we do us without involving you at this moment.’ Cause I see that a lot of these situations start to affect the politics of the music.

Looks like Young Buck is finally about getting money. Word is he also has taken steps to end his year fued with rappper Lil Wayne. I guess his new album should have been called “Hug the World” instead of “Buck the World”

D.G. (DA GREAT) Yola, one of the newest additions to Atlantic Records, was shot over the weekend by unknown assailants during an attempted Car Jacking in Atlanta. According to Atlantic record reps Yola is currently recovering at an Atlanta area hospital. Supposedly the bullet entered through one cheek an exited the other.

Good News People! For all of you who have been waiting on the day for a new Styles P album to drop, looks like the time has finally come. On Friday, March 23rd Koch Records announced the signing of the accomplished MC Styles P and the expected Summer 2007 release of his next album, “5 Star General.”

Styles P, a member of the pioneering Hip Hop trio The Lox, is best known for his solo smash hit single “Good Times (I Get High)” off of his debut solo album “A Gangster and a Gentleman,” which sold more than 700,000 copies. Since then Styles P has released two stand-alone mixtapes, “Ghost in the Shell” and “Ghost in the Machine,” and “Time Is Money,” his sophmore release in 2006 under Interscope.

While conducting an interview with Hot 97′s own Angie Martinez, Styles P had this to say about the recent signing,
“I look forward to embarking on this exciting new phase of my career along side KOCH Records, a company best known for their unyielding interest in supporting the vision of the artist. It feels good to be a part of a team that appreciates hip hop in its truest form. I am ecstatic about being in control of my own destiny.”

After calling out pop star Christina Aguilera and British singer Joss Stone for their supposed habit of sleeping with producers in exchange for music, Dallas Austin has decided to apologize for his antics.

“Every action generates an equal and opposite reaction. My statement about Christina Aguilera and Joss Stone was a reaction to an incident I care not to discuss in any forum, and while I may have felt justified, I do owe an apology to Christina, Joss and their families. “The comments I made about Christina Aguilera and Joss Stone were purely an act of retaliation not of malice or cruel intent. As we all have our boiling points, I sincerely apologize as this is not my character nor should I have let anyone’s actions push me to this limit. I have let my family, friends, employees and business associates down with my actions. “All content and any malicious statements that were in my control have been removed from outlets that may have posted this. “Please accept this as my formal statement and apology to all parties involved.”

Christina Aguilera’s people aren’t hearing it and have decided to consult with her lawyer before actions are made. No word on Joss though.

The allegations were made public on a video blog posted on you tube sometime last week. If you didn’t get a chance to see it. Sucks for you! But you pretty much get the idea.

Rumor around town is that President Carter has been throwing some red tape around former Rocafella Records artist Omillio Sparks’ and his new independent label, Clossal Entertainment. Besides stopping Omillio’s progression, Mr. Jigga Man is also slowing the progress of close friends and Def Jam artists Peedi Peedi and Freeway. The Philadelphia hip hop artists are featured in two songs on the “Payback” album, in which one of the songs reminisces on the times at the original Roc-A-Fella records, before Jay Z became “90210 Hov” according to Sparks.

Sources say that Jay-Z is not only holding up the progress of Omillio Sparks, but is also limiting the progression of music projects within the Def Jam building, due to his rumored forthcoming jump to Warner Brothers Music Group later this year. Really close sources have said that “Jay is only biding his time at Def Jam, and his artists have some very choice words for him.”

After trying to remain silent for sometime and not wanting to join the growing list of Jay-Z dissers, Omillio has finally been pushed to the limit and had this to say. “Jay has left me no choice but to tell the truth about what’s going on. I hear him boast about going to Africa and helping people out in crisis over there, and he has no idea w hat he’s doing to artists’ careers and their livelihoods here in fu@kin America, he’s deliberately doing things that make the streets question h is credibility and his worthiness. I hate to say it but the boi has become the king of false hope. He has niggas on his label now, running around being soldiers for him. Look at that nigga Tru Life, he’s making diss records and defending Hov’s honor as a true friend would do, Hov won’t do the same for that man though…he’ll see.”
