Contrary to numerous reports Swizz Beatz was actually not the CEO of the popular file sharing website Megaupload, which was recently shut down by the Feds under piracy laws. Megaupload’s lawyer, Ira Rothken, confirmed with VentureBeat that Beatz had no formal role with the company.
“To my knowledge, Swizz Beatz was never involved in any meaningful way,” Rothken said. “He was negotiating to become the CEO, but it was never official.”
The news comes as surprise, given that the site listed Swizz as their CEO, as well as his publicist confirming with The New York Observer‘s BetaBeat that Beatz was in fact the CEO.
Come on now, anyone with half a brain can see what this is – no is just going to list you as CEO of a website without paper work being put together. This is plausible deniability, who wants to be connected to all the shit going on with MegaUpload right now? I’m sure his attorneys already gave him the 360% on what to do and what not to say to the press. Get ready to see a bunch of interviews where Swizz denies any official affiliation with the company.
It’s the only play..

Can u blame him? I mean we kno they ain’t convicting him but if they some find a way to do so would u think he would be willing to serve a maximum of 55 years? I’ll applaud him for getting out and denying any affiliation just in case it might come back to bite him the ass later on. Smart move swizz, let ur money but ur way out with lawyers
