Yet another visual from Nas' Life Is Good album, this time we get the Bye Baby music video directed by Aristotle. The track was produced by Salaam Remi and Noah "40" Shebib who both composed a few different tracks on the already classic album. The video fits the song perfectly and the album as well. Nas visualized what he had explained in past interviews about the use of Kelis' wedding dress for the album cover.

"I was angry when I first found it. Hurt and angry - but I don't think she left it deliberately to hurt me. It's just part of the dress, so I don't know where the rest of it is. But it made all the sense in the world for me to hold on to that. I guess that's just my personality. "My wedding and my marriage was, for the most part, some of the most amazing times of my life. She's an incredible woman. It just ended really publicly, it seemed real bad."

Nas Gives His Thoughts On The Nicki Minaj vs Hot 97 Beef

Nas has been in Nicki Minaj's shoes in the past. Back at the 2001 Summer Jam festival, Nas had his own beef going on with Hot 97 because of his then beef with fellow lyricist Jay-Z. This time around, he was a spectator of a new school beef, and he spoke up about the current situation between Nicki Minaj vs Hot 97 at the 2012 Summer Jam festival. Nas spoke to Rap-Up.com about the entire issue but remained respectful and neutral to both parties. Nas knows very well how it feels to be a part of beef in the hip-hop realm, and now that he has matured over the years, he honestly feels as though everyone should just put their differences behind them and unify, despite what camp they might represent. Here's what Nas had to say: "I've been there before and things like that happen every couple of years. I guess this is the second time something has happened like that between the artist and the radio station. We don't always agree and the nature of hip-hop can be aggressive and get real gangsta on you now and then. That's just what it is. These things happen. "YMCMB's situation was different than mine and I'm not clear on all of it, but of course when it happened with me years ago, it was based on the Jay-Z drama and a whole bunch of other stuff. Her situation is based on something different between her and her camp. Eventually I got cool with Hot 97 and they got cool with me. It's one hip-hop family, and that's how it should be at the end of the day. "I think it was just really messy. When you're in the heat of that moment, no one has time to inform anybody, but we (Nicki and I) spoke after briefly and it seemed like it was a crazy situation for her to handle. When put in that position, it's no easy thing and I guess I was in support of her, in support of Hot 97. I've been there before, so at the end of the day, it could be fixed. Nas Promoters Still Being Held Hostage, Over a Failed Nas Performance

Promoters that were kidnapped in Angola over a failed Nas performance are still being held hostage more than a month later. Father and son Patrick Allocco, Sr. and Patrick Allocco, Jr. are still captive for promoting a January Nas show that ended with the rapper failing to appear. The men were reportedly captured by angry affiliates of a local promoter Henrique Miguel on their way to the U.S. embassy following the fiasco. The Alloccos blame Nas and R&B singer Jemiah Jah for not showing up. Nas returned his advance, but Jah is refusing to follow suit. “He put us in real harm, in real possible danger,” Allocco said. “This is the closest thing we came to someone up and running with the money.” THe U.S. embassy is refusing to get involved, and the men are being held until they can present Miguel with another $75,000. This is bugged out.

Well as you know I worked with a wide range of talent. One cool dude I got to kick it with was my man Nas. Nas is a talented, funny, cool individual. Actually his brother Jungle, to me is one of the funniest dudes I ever met. Don’t believe me check the N.O.R.E. skits. I must credit Jungle though, he was a visionary with A&R talent as well. This song was done in 2005 while I was recording “Press Play”. This beat was one out of many sitting around. I felt this beat was Hip-Hop and to me I pictured Nas flowing to this beat, it was NYC, Queens, and most of all had substance. Well as we know the track never made the album, however the countless studio sessions with Nas and Keyshia were priceless. They were never in the studio at the sametime. Yummy Bingham originally wrote and referenced the hook. I wish this song made it to Press Play, but it never did, I thought the world could use some blessings from Godson.

The Reason Why Nas’ Lost Tapes 2 Isn’t Dropping

Remember back in 2002 Nas had dropped Lost Tapes? It was big deal back then, and now the sequel is ready to be released, and Def Jam is apparently willing to put it out, but they’re supposedly saying that it won’t count on his deal and that they won’t give him any money, although in the e-mail below addressed to Def Jam’s top execs from Nas, they seemed to have offered him $200k for it. They also allegedly still want all of the benefits that come from releasing a Nas album.

Beefing with record labels is so 15 years ago. @ this point I just need you all to be very clear where I stand and how I feel about “my label.” I could go on twitter or hot 97 tomorrow and get 100,000 protesters @ your building but I choose to walk my own path my own way because since day one I have been my own man. I did business with Tommy Mottola and Donnie Einer, two of the most psycho dudes this business ever created. I worked well with them for one major reason……. they believed in me. The didn’t give a fuck about what any radio station or magazine said….those dudes had me.

Lost Tapes is a movement and a very important set up piece for my career as it stands. I started this over 5 years ago @ Columbia and nobody knew what it was or what it did but the label put it out as an LP and the fans went crazy for it and I single handlely built a new brand of rap albums. It’s smart and after 5 years it’s still a head of the game. This feels great and you not feeling what I’m feeling is disturbing. Don’t get in the way of my creativity. We are aligned with the stars here, this is a movement. There is a thing called KARMA that comes to haunt you when you tamper with the aligning stars. WE ARE GIVING THE PEOPLE EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT. Stop throwing dog shit on a MAGICAL moment.

You don’t get another Nas recording that doesn’t count against my deal….PERIOD! Keep your bullshit $200,000.00 fund. Open the REAL budget. This is a New York pioneers ALBUM, there ain’t many of us. I am ready to drop in the 4th quarter. You don’t even have shit coming out! Stop being your own worst enemy. Let’s get money!

I was having a conversation about Jay-Z and Nas and how it was really crazy how they were having this Nas vs. Jay-Z moment 10 years ago and no one really talks about it now. You clearly haven’t been to complex.com! M.I.A.: Jay became the biggest representation of rap music who’s still alive, started dating Beyoncé—everything was so much bigger and better with Jay-Z. I hope people don’t think that that wins. The fact that Nas didn’t become all this sort of stuff changes people’s perception about the music and the work he achieved in his lifetime. I don’t wanna say Jay-Z sold out, but I just feel like we have to wait another 10 years to see what happens. Jay-Z’s ambition was to become like Frank Sinatra, a household name all over the planet, and own a casino in Vegas and stuff like that. And I think Nas was really sticking to knowledge. The Punchbowl Blog caught up with Nas at the Orange Rock Corps concert over in the U.K. and asked him about his new album with Damien Marley and his next solo project. When the interviewer asks him about his FAILure to submit a verse for ?Verbal Intercourse 2?, he says that this is the first he?s hearing of it. When she specifically asks him about ?Empire State of Mind?, he tells her to move on to the next question. Nevertheless, he goes on to say that Only Bult 4 Cuban Linx 2 and Blueprint 3 are two of his favorite albums right now and cites both as sources of inspiration. He also comments briefly on Kanye at the VMAs, Kelis and being offered the Def Jam presidency. Finally, he mentions Drake, Lil Wayne and Asher Roth as ?new? artists that he respects.

It would have been great to hear him on Blueprint 3.

Nas Requests Judge To Deny Kelis Spousal Support Request

Kelis filed for divorce April 30. She’s weeks from giving birth and unable to work, but no matter to Nas — he’s filed his response to the divorce, asking the judge to deny her the spousal support she’s seeking. For bad measure, he also wants her to pay her own lawyer’s fees. Source: TMZ

Nas is trying to avoid that child support, maybe Kelis is asking for too much. Damn all that when is that sextape coming of Kelis getting banged by some no name rapper supposedly before she Married Nas. I remember 50 Cent was saying something about Kelis getting her back blown out by some one back in 2007 but never thought anything of it.

Hip hop artist Kelis Rogers is pregnant with her first child. An insider tells US Weekly magazine that the 29-year-old and her husband, rapper Nas, are “so excited” to become parents. “It’s all they are talking about. She is carrying hip-hop royalty!” the source said. “They are so excited.”

Kelis and Nas were married in January 2005. Kelis is best known for her 2003 hit single ‘Milkshake.’ Nas, whose real name is Nasir Jones, is best known for his 2006 album ‘Hip Hop is Dead.’
