I didn’t make this record for press purposes or for hype cuz that’s not my thing. I got wind of various artists referencin me in a negative fashion. They poked fun at me I’m just pokin back. Its all sport to me. I wish em all the best, they just need to understand who is off limits. MC Lyte is off limits. Rah Digga is off limits. Respect those who kept hip hop raw so that we could still have a culture or get a first hand lesson in a lyrical ass whoopin. Love is love.

Rah Digga is excited to announce her upcoming show, Ladies First, at Southpaw in Brooklyn, NY. The show, taking place Thursday, February 24th, will be Digga's first headlining performance in NYC in some time, and she will be joined by performances from Eternia, Nitty Scott MC, Likwuid, Zarinah, and Kalae Allday. Tickets for the event are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the show. For Digga, this upcoming show date offers the perfect opportunity for her to show off her brand new secret weapon: her live band. "This is my first show in New York with the band, so I'm really excited about that," says Digga. "It's been a long time since people have seen a Digga show, so I wanted to make sure the audience is truly entertained. Plus, I'm into live bands, anyway -- it offers fans a much more sophisticated experience." In addition to the upcoming show, Digga is also releasing the latest remix from Classic, her highly-acclaimed, Nottz-produced sophomore album released in the fall of last year via Raw Koncept Media Group. The track, "Check Me Boo (9th Still Checkin' Remix)," is 9th Wonder's own take on the fan favorite "Check Me Boo." While, as with previousDigga remixes from the likes of Khrysis and others, the lyrics remain untouched, 9th Wonder brings a new feel musically, with understated soulful boom-bap to match the forceful lyrics and contrast Nottz' heavy drums, deep bass, and organs.

Rah Digga – Solidified (Khrysis Remix)

With a Los Angeles performance last night and "Straight Spittin' 4.5" still fresh in listeners' ears, Rah Digga is right back to work, dropping the latest remix from Classic, her highly lauded sophomore album released late last year. This remix, for the song "Solidified," finds the Jersey representative teaming up with North Carolina producer Khrysis, who, in addition to making up one half of the group The Away Team, has worked with artists including Little Brother, Skyzoo, Jean Grae, Sean Price, Masta Ace, and more. While the vocals remain in tact for this particular remix, Khrysis breathes new life into the song. While the original, produced by Nottz, who handled production duties for the entirety of Classic, features a smattering of funk guitar chops, rolling bass, and syncopated drums, Khrysis gives the song a more pronounced backbeat, utilizing a mix of piano chops, synths, and steady drums, all the while allowing Digga's lyrics shine.

Brick City's Finest Teams With Marco Polo For Latest In Straight Spittin' Series Just in time for the long weekend, Newark, New Jersey's own Rah Diggais back with the latest in her Straight Spittin' series, "Straight Spittin' 4.5."While Nottz handled production duties on the previous "Straight Spittin IV," in addition to the rest of Digga's highly lauded sophomore album Classic, Digga has teamed up with producer Marco Polo for this short but deadly follow-up track. After last week's release of "This Ain't No Lil Kid Rap (Remix)" featuring Redman, Rah Diggacontinues to preview her much-anticipated sophomore LP, Classic, with "Straight Spittin' IV." ProducerNottz worked this and every song on the album and the collaborative power the two artists share is on full display here. Those familiar with Rah Digga's past work may recognize "Straight Spittin' IV" as the latest in a running series of "Straight Spitttin'" tracks, the second of which appeared on her debut, Dirty Harriet. This installment features Digga in peak form, rapping energetically over a propulsive, guitar-based instrumental. You can hear the conviction in her voice and, when she delivers lines like "I'm spittin' till I'm thirsty, but I don't need a chaser / I'll probably be spittin' 'till the day I meet my maker," and "Straight spittin' on it, you could call this Illimatic / Think I'm lying when I say I got a basement for an attic / I'm spittin' for that cabbage, that scrilla, or that fetti / That hold up press rewind spittin', I don't think they're ready," you know she's telling the truth. The hip-hop world is abuzz with the promise of a follow-up from one of rap's most prominent and skilled female emcees, Rah Digga. Following on the heels of her inclusion in BET's recent documentary My Mic Sounds Nice, Digga delivers a taste of what's to come with the remix of "This Ain't No Lil Kid Rap," the lead single fromClassic. Featuring Redman, the pairing is only natural, as the Digga and Redman are good friends and New Jersey natives. Despite the long-running friendship and shared geographic location, this track marks the first time the two have ever appeared on a song together. The track's beat, while similar to the original, received some remixing from Nottz, who worked to keep the instrumental's drums and sparse guitar work intact, allowing the talents of both of these established artists to be the star of the show.
