I’m not talking reckless. I said the young boy got potential and I said he was talented, but the album is trash. That’s tough love.

Beats is trash, number one. And once your beats are trash, you’re finished because you can’t handle a good flow. I don’t really want to hear what you gotta say. I’ll go buy Dr. Cornel West’s album if I want to hear someone talk.

I feel bad for him because everybody’s gassing him right now, everyone’s on him. He on fire because of that Interscope machine, he’s on fire because of that Dr. Dre machine. He’s nice, but that’s a lot of hype. All I’m saying is, to show y’all I’m not a hater, 50 delivered. I never had nothing positive to say about him, but he delivered. He lived up to the hype, Get Rich or Die Trying was a classic.

I’ve been in this game since 1997, professionally, and you cant tell me how I’m supposed to come up with my opinion, you could disagree. That’s cool, that’s what democracy is all about, but I’m saying is he didn’t deliver. 50 Cent delivered, Eminem delivered, The Game delivered, Snoop Dogg delivered a great first album, Kendrick Lamar aint do that.

Shyne released his newest musical project, Gangland, and on track number 10 titled "Fred Hampton", Shyne spits some bars about the truths that exist behind prison walls.  At the end of the track around the 3:15 mark, he spits some lines aimed at 50 Cent, claiming that there are so many people who would be free men if it weren't for the fact that 50 made a deal with the Feds and snitched on everyone. This ends a bidding war that had industry bigwigs vying for Shyne’s attention, flying to Belize, calling and courting, ever since the Brooklyn emcee was released from prison and deported to Belize back in October. For Shyne to turn down hard-court pressure from Jimmy Iovine/Dr.Dre and others and instead join LA Reid back at his last known recording-residence actually seems like an inevitable move….because I’ve been hearing that Shyne has been pow-wowing with veteran manager Kyambo “HipHop” Joshua for a while now. Joshua and his HipHopSince1978 partners, Gee Roberson, also manage Lil Wayne, Drake, Young Jeezy and more. Meanwhile, my old friend Al Branch is both a partner in HipHopSince1978 and a high-level exec at Def Jam…see how that works? Synergy!  Now there have been recent reports of new label-wide pressures, but with this team in place, Shyne is in good hands.

Another one from Khaled titled All Mt Life featuring Akon, Shyne & Mavado, these are the first bars we’ve heard from Shyne since his release from prison. Not really feeling it though Shyne doesn’t sound polished at all (no pun intended), or maybe this just needs to be mixed more.

The beat is actually a classic Reggae “BUG” riddim made back in 1999 (such memories) which had many classic Reggae joints on it most notably Bounty Killer’s Look. You don’t even want to know what I was doing Jamaica around this time, Crazy!

Shyne’s team is fighting to stay in the US where his mother and his grandmother live and where they raised him….but it seems like he’s going to have to continue the fight from Belize. Shyne will be released from Immigration custody but will then be deported to Belize soon. He has Harvard Professor Charles Ogletree advocating on his behalf in concert with his legal team. They’re still urging fans to reach out to Governor Patterson’s office to petition for Shyne’s pardon (click here for Paterson’s email and his address) but deportation is imminent.

And what about Shyne’s mental state? Angie says “Shyne is one of the strongest people I know and he’s handling this situation just as I’d expect him to. It must be frustrating for all of his friends and family; he served his time, and keeps getting all these different dates and conflicting information. But he’s a soldier, he’s dealing with it.”

Like I said, it was pretty much a rap after they picked him up as soon as he got out of jail. He might be able to comeback (trust me, it’s been known to happen) but it gonna take a minute.

It looks like Shyne’s homecoming is on hold for the moment. The former Bad Boy rapper (born Jamal Barrow) was scheduled to be released from prison Tuesday (October 6) after serving more than nine years of a 10-year sentence in connection with the 2001 Club New York shooting involving Diddy and Jennifer Lopez. But his release is now under review, as representatives for the rapper revealed to MTV News that the Brooklyn MC is being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at an unspecified facility in Western New York State. Officials are determining whether or not to deport the rapper, who was born in Belize, a rep explained. “Shyne is currently in federal custody while his future immigration status is determined,” the rep said in a message to MTV News. Shyne attorney Oscar Michelen emphasized to MTV News on Tuesday afternoon that Shyne has not been released, contrary to media reports. In August, a lawyer for Shyne said the rapper was “90 percent of the way home” after a judge ruled on his post-release supervision. The rapper received two and a half years of post-release supervision (probation, essentially) stemming from his conviction on first-degree assault and a host of other lesser charges. At the time of his sentencing, an official with the Department of Correction confirmed to MTV News that Shyne would have to complete at least eight years and seven months of his prison sentence. For years, though, Shyne’s release date has been the subject of much confusion. Michelen acknowledged the subject had become urban legend, as the rumors started yearly that his client would be released. Michelen told MTV News in August that he believed a clerical error led to the incorrect assumptions. “I think [the basis for the rumor] was created by a computer,” he explained, “because the Department of Corrections has a Web site where you can do an inmate lookup. And if you have the information, it will show you that [Shyne's] earlier release date was originally April [of this year] and then June. And we don’t now how that was in there. But it showed that. And then what would happen is before a release date, [an inmate] would get produced before a parole board, and in the institution, there would be rumors that [Shyne] was up for parole. I guess inmates or guards would spread the rumor.” At press time, the status of Shyne’s release from prison remained unclear.
