As we reflect on the highs and lows of the past year,The Niceguys' are treating fans with the latest single "Toast," as well as some fresh artwork courtesy of JaQ DuTcH , from their debut album The Show, just in time to celebrate the New Year. "The crux of this whole song is celebration," reveals Yves Saint, the rapper of the group. "It's looking back on your life honestly and truly being thankful for what you have now." The bluesy, horn heavy beat captures the essence of the lyrics creating a backdrop of triumph and achievement. The lyrics are inspirational and reflect on the early success of the group while paying homage to the struggles endured to get to where they are. "And I appreciate the love, cause I felt the hate/ And I appreciate the hugs, cause I felt the scrapes," Yves Saint rhymes. "Always remember to count your blessings, celebrate life, enjoy your youth, and make the most of the time you have on this earth," states Free, one-half of the group's producer core (along with Christoph). The Niceguys just wrapped a shoot for the official music video for "Toast," which will drop in the coming weeks. The Background: The Niceguys epitomize the law of dynamics. They stimulate development and progress, and they also thrive off their own original ideas. The Niceguys' MC, DJ, and Producers consist of four young men by the names of Yves (MC), Candlestick(DJ), Free (Producer), and Christolph(Producer), respectively. Experiencing The Niceguys' chemistry live on stage is when the audience can witness that there is more to the group than meets the ear. The guys' personality and talent, as well as the lyrical content of their music, combine to provide a feel-good atmosphere for whoever is around. Having released The Green Room EP for free download in late 2009, The Niceguys have been quickly garnering attention from writers, bloggers, and tastemakers alike. The Niceguys' debut LP, The Show, will be dropping in the fall of 2010 via The Pi Group.

The Niceguys' new single, "It's Like That," is the latest from their inclement debut album, The Show, and, in some ways, the most important yet. "Without recording this song there would absolutely be no album," reveals Christolph, one-half of the group's producer core (along withFree). "It sparked something inside us to continuously make good music and to push our talents and start taking music more seriously." This decision to get serious was a good one, as "It's Like That" will be the latest single to garner video treatment inthe coming weeks and will also serve as the first official remix from The Show, with some exciting soon-to-be-announced guests. The song makes no attempt to be anything other than a good time. The lyrics are fun and breezy and serve to show off theskills of Yves Saint, the rapper of the group. "One deep / Two Swisher Sweets / You can't move like I move / It's like I got three feet" he rhymes effortlessly, calling to attention his own expertise with the mic. Complimenting Yves' rhymes is a complex but equally enjoyable instrumental featuring brass, woodwinds, vocal chops, and other instrumentation contributing to a sometimes upbeat, sometimes relaxed backing track. "Basically, we were just having fun," explains Christolph. "This is our soundtrack to the fun we will continue to have while pushing the album." It's clear that, no matter how seriously The Niceguys take their work, their goal in making music will always be to entertain themselves and their fans.
