Wiz Khalifa has been dropping new tracks for months now and though they were all hot, none of them were official singles. To follow up his platinum selling first single "Work Hard Play Hard," he's joined joined by The Weeknd on his second official single titled "Remember You." I'm not sure how I feel about this one yet, gonna have to give it a few spins. It could be a sleeping giant like Work Hard Play Hard. Thoughts?

After announcing his new deal with Universal Republic, The Weeknd debuts the mixed and mastered version of “Wicked Games,” the first single off his major-label debut Trilogy. The song originally appeared his 2011 breakout mixtape “House of Balloons,” but has now been redone and shortened by a minute. His Trilogy project will inlude mixed and mastered versions of all the cuts from all 3 mixtapes “House of Balloons,” “Thursday,” and “Echoes of Silence,” as well as newly recorded material. This is similar yo what happened with Drake, another and Canadian who's debut mixtape "So Far Gone" became such a huge hit that it was re-released as an album. Thoughts on the remastered version.

The Weeknd Finally Decides To Go Major, Inks a Deal With Universal Republic

Over the past 2 years The Weeknd has put out some impressive mixtapes, first it was Thursday, then House Of Balloons followed by Echoes Of Silence to end off the trilogy. In between that were also some notable unofficial tapes as well, which included OVOXO, Balloons Of Haus, and Live For This (Coachella). All of this created a buzz we haven't seen for a R&B singer in quite some time, he has been performing and selling out shows since then and all without a major deal or a debut album. Now all of that is about to change. Yesterday The Wekend and his imprint XO announced a joint venture with Universal Music subsidiary Republic Records. The Toronto native has plans to release a trilogy package on November 13th which will contain "House of Balloons" "Thursday" and "Echoes of Silence" remastered along with 3 new bonus tracks to be included. To prepare for the trilogy release, The Weeknd has plans to release his first single off the project titled “Wicked Games” on iTunes soon. Congrats to The Weeknd, it's well deserved.
