The Real Rick Ross Wants To Sue Officer Ricky For Infringement

Posted by & filed under Hip Hop Beefs, Hip Hop News.

Former drug kingpin “Freeway” Rick Ross could face off against the rapper Rick Ross (William Leonard Roberts II) in court this summer, over the usage of the name “Rick Ross.”

Ross was sentenced to life in prison for attempting to purchase over 100 kilograms of cocaine in 1996 and served 10 years. During his incarceration Miami rapper Rick Ross was just one of the emcees to adopt his name. Ross claims that the Bawse signed a multimillion dollar deal in 2006, based on his image and likeness as a drug dealer.

Rick Ross claims Def Jam ignored cease-and-desist letters sent to their offices. Allhiphop.com is reporting that Ross is planning to sue Def Jam, Universal, William “Rick Ross” Roberts II and others.

Below is a video of the Real Rick Ross speaking on the Officer.

I was wondering when this was going to happen.

I wonder if the real 50 Cent was alive would he have the right to sue Curtis Jackson? Most likely not since 50 Cent the rapper rapped about his own life unlike Rick Ross who’s entire persona is fabricated.

Do y’all think the Real Rick Ross is entitled?

well i kinda feel where the real ross is coming from…he pretty much stole the mans lifestyle, even his beard…but 50 did the same thing, he still raps about killing people and drugs and all he does is sit on ass in his 100 room mansion…ross is my nigga, and would still be my nigga under a different name, no matter how u flip curtis jackson, he will still be a lying, no gangsta ass wanna be who’s career can barley be kept alive…

Rick Ross’s career is draining. First he disses EMINEM, he was revealed a cop, and then this. His new name should “Officer Ricky”. Sorry Ross, I’m from Dade too and see you all the times. And stop bringing up Haitians into your mess when you get in trouble, we don’t start no beef, we end it legally or illegally. You was straight until you dissed EM and DRE. You shoulda stay dissing that gorilla look-a-like 50 Cent, not Eminem. Em will end your career dawg. And I know you was a big fan of Em,Pac,and Trick. You’ve changed on us William. That’s I don’t vive with you no more, you’re fake.

Chozen, I love how you are quick to talk down on Ricky but you defend 50 snitch for doing the same shit. Bottom line is it don’t matter if these niggas sold a gram or not, they’re music artists, not gangsters, they’re businessmen, not gangsters, they are actors, not gangsters. If you like William’s or Curtis’ music it isn’t because of the name on the CD, so it really makes no difference. As for Freeway Ricky, you gotta get in where you fit in, I’d do the same thang.
