The numbers are in for all the November 22nd album releases, check the full recap of the numbers albums for Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Ne-Yo & Lloyd Banks.
Number 1: Kanye West’s 5th album, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” sold 497k records in its first week. Kanye’s previous debuts were, “The College Dropout,”(441k) “Late Registration,”(860k) “Graduation,”(957k) & “808s & Heartbreak”(450k). I hated 808s & Heartbreak but this new album is great, some of his best production to date. The album even gained the infamous 5 Mics in The Source Magazine. The reviews from our readers also have the same scores as The Source.
Number 2: Nicki Minaj’s debut album, “Pink Friday,” which had allot of mixed reviews sold 376k records in its first week of sales. Nicki Minaj’s label mate Drake debuted with 447k earlier this year. With Lil Wayne’s, “I Am Not A Human Being,” going gold this week Lil Wayne’s Young Money empire is running this right now. Is Nicki Ninaj’s debut effort above or below your expectations?
Number 3: Ne-Yo’s, “Libra Scale,” sold 112k records in its first week of sales. Ne-Yo’s last album, “Year of the Gentleman,” sold 250k in the first week.
Number 25: Lloyd Banks sold 44,500 copies of, “Hunger For More 2,” last week. His sophomore LP, Rotten Apple sold 143,000 copies it’s first week and debut at number 3. His debut album and the original to the current sequel The Hunger for More opened at #1 on Billboard‘s albums sales chart, with week-one sales topping 433,000, and Hunger ended up spending a second-straight week at #1, selling close to 164,000 units. Judging by the reviews from our readers and reviews across web, people really enjoyed the album, much better than Rotten Apple. 45, 000 copies for a now independent artist isn’t bad, plus his single Beamer, Benz and Bentley sold over 500,000 copies. Unfortunately the single was released in the 1st quarter and the album released in the 4th quarter and even though “Any Girl” and “Start It Up” were great songs they were no where close to the lead single.

Nicki is just average and her sales week suggests that.For an album that didnt leak and so much buzz and hype behind it,376k is pretty average too me.I expected her to do 750k ish or at least go gold.
Drizzy’s album leaked early and he still 100k better.Just another reason to prove nicki minaj is just hype and buzz that will eventually die down.
