Talk about corporate hating…
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you must know that there’s quite a bit of excitement around the Beats By Dre headphones right now after recently being acquired by Apple for 3 billion.
It was a big celebration in Hip Hop and everyone was in a congratulatory mood, everyone except SONY of course.
The long time sponsor of the World Cup isn’t trying to share the spotlight on the biggest stage in the world, the FIFA World Cup.
Sony, an official sponsor for the event, has banned the headphones from World Cup stadiums, the sidelines and any media events the players take part in.
What? Didn’t even know that was possible.
This comes weeks after Beats by Dre released their “Game Before the Game” short film right before the World Cup started, starring Neymar Jr., Luis Suarez, Robin van Persie and Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez among others.
Naturally that won’t stop the players from wearing it, but don’t expect to see Beats anywhere at the World Cup.
