Your right I got use to a more hip-hop flavored Kanye.Though I prefer hip-hop over any other genre of music doesn't mean that I don't like other genres. Dog tell me how in the hell can you have more substance when he hardly says anything at all. Kanye's older albums only had a few guest appearances. I'm not lying nor being ignorant. How has he gotten better? Listen to the college dropout and listen to MBDTF. With the College Dropout you hear smooth entertaining beats filled with Kanye's signature style and you also get some of his truly best lyricism and guest features that don't have better and more verses than kanye and everything has it's place. But when you listen to his new bullshit all you get is over the top beats with too much put into them and half ass verses from kanye that basically get murdered by weak ass artist. I'm not saying kanye isn't doing his thing cause I personally favor him out of all of the artist out today but I'm just saying he could and has done better. But listen to the albums and you'll find that his newest one is heavily pop influenced while his older one like the College Dropout or Late Registration are more raw and just better overall.

the reason he is expanding is because he is not only hip hop any more, college drop out is better in your eyes because it is a pure hip hop album, so you probably only listen to hip hop, and that is not a bad thing, MBDTF is an example of how he is trying new things, he tries to fuse classical, rock, alternative and hip hop/rap together. Its not a pure hip hop album, which is why i wouldn't call it the best hip hop album of the year, but it can appeal to other genres, so that is why i consider it one of the, if not the best album out this year

his beats on here have gotten wayy better... they're by far more intriquite and sonically advanceed than naything else he has ever donee.. and his lyrics rso personal now. His music is filled iwth double entendres and metaphors.. usings similies is the easiest way to rap so he rapped with mostlyy metaphors. But everything he says has multiple meanings. He's much more political now. Before he wanted to prove he belonged so he just dropeed hard lines, now that he's sealed his spot as 1 of the greatest, he raps more personal, social, and political.

I believe this because all he is doing is experimenting with different sounding beats and consistently collaborating with a lot of artist on his new songs. Point blank I don't think your seeing my point of view 808's was different and I liked that album that proves that I don't hate his different projects because that album is his most different album to date. The only thing so different about his newest album is his beats, the amount of his collaborations, and the amount of solid bars he spits as a individual artist. I think his beats are way too flashy and pop influenced.
